Act 2 • Sundance Mountain Resort

2021: Expanded Snowmaking

Sundance long operated with slim snowmaking capabilities—which was fine during big winters but left less terrain skiable when Mother Nature dished out drier winters. Resort operators had long wished for better snowmaking equipment and reach so they could assure their guests a great ski experience no matter the weather. In 2021, that dream became reality, thanks to a 19-million-gallon new pond and pump house that can pump 800-3,500 gallons per minute into the resort’s expanded lines and snow-blowers. Now, 90% of the mountain’s runs can be covered or augmented with man-made snow in record time. It makes for a Sundance experience all our guests can rely on.
